Childrens Worker
Temporary basis to cover maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity to join Just42's staff team as the Children’s Worker, on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave.
As a long established local charity we offer quality youth and children’s work within a Christian ethos. Just42 is committed to the importance of safeguarding and promoting children/young people’s welfare.
The Children’s worker will be responsible for running all our children’s work including clubs within 5 local primary schools, assemblies, our Transitions project delivered to year 6’s in x primary schools and also occasional activity days during the school holidays.
In accordance with the Equality Act 2010 it is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a practicing Christian. The successful candidate will need to hold a valid right to work in the UK.
Due to the rural settings of our work, access to your own vehicle to travel to and from our office, local schools and other locations will be essential.
Outline Terms
The hours will be 26 to 30 hours per week over 4 or 5 days. We’re open to discussing the possibility of a job share. This position has an hourly rate of between £15.96 and £16.42 depending on experience and will also include 5 weeks holiday on a pro-rata basis, life cover and pension benefits.

Just42 - Youth and Children’s Work Charity & St John’s
Apprentice in Christian Youth Work and Ministry
This is an excellent opportunity to train and gain experience in Christian youth work and ministry. The successful candidate will join the staff teams of Just42 and St John’s as a joint apprentice across both organisations and gain a wealth of experience in different settings.
Just42 is a long-established local charity with a Christian ethos, offering quality youth and children’s work. The mission of St John’s Church is to love God and share the love of Jesus. Both organisations share an office and a vision to see young people thrive.
At Just42 the Apprentice will work alongside experienced and qualified Youth Workers at projects including rural youth clubs, schools work and a mentoring project.
With St John’s Church, the Apprentice will help bring relevant Christian youth ministry to young people in the Church and in the local community. This includes a weekly youth club and a Christian club at the local high school. The apprentice will work with St John’s’ experienced volunteer youth team.
The working week includes time and support to gain a JNC-recognised Diploma in youth work practice, and to complete Christian youth ministry training.

Outline Terms
The hours will be 37.5 hours per week over 5 days and evenings, most of our clubs and projects run during term times only, after school.
Some flexibility will be needed regarding the weekly schedule. This includes time for “off the job” learning.
The position has an hourly rate of £12.71, which is the national living wage and will also include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays which is usually required to be taken during school holidays and pension benefits.
The Apprenticeship will take about 20 months to complete, with the aim of achieving a Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work and completing training in Christian youth ministry. The successful candidate must be motivated to study alongside their work in our projects.
