Brief Description
Our programme provides evenings of fun activities, good laughs, meaningful discussions, indoor games, outdoor games during the summer months, informal social education and the chance to simply allow young people to chill out, meet other young people and have a relaxed evening of fun and enjoyment all round. Through support, encouragement, listening and creating opportunities for personal development and growth, we continually strive to offer something meaningful and special to those who attend. We believe that JADS offers quality time and space for young people, and helps make a positive contribution to their lives.

JADS rounded off 2006 with a Christmas Party with a difference. One of our young people who attends JADS has recently formed a band with three of his friends; they call themselves 'The Laddercoins'. When we invited them to perform for us at the JADS Christmas Party, they jumped at the opportunity of performing their first ever full live gig. Their only previous experience of performing together was at a recent school rock concert, where they were able to play just one song.

The Laddercoins put in a superb performance and treated the young people to a great night of entertainment. Asked what the band thought of the evening, they replied "It was great to have the opportunity to perform in front of such a.........vast! audience." It was evident that the crowd appreciated the repertoire of well known indie, funk, punk and rock covers from Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Pink Floyd. The evening was greatly enjoyed by the musicians, drummer and the crowd!
