Arts

New MySpace for Woodbridge Wheelie Bin Band - scroll down for link...

What is Arts?

The initial project was funded by Suffolk Coastal District Council and was part of their work in the community in 2006 called UPSTIX.

We like to think the programme meets the young peoples desire to be creative and to do something that allows them to express their culture and lifestyle in the public. It is also fun. We have recently secured funding from the Youth Opportunity Fund under 'Bin There, Drummed That' and have performed in 2008 at Woodbridge Regatta and (under another name) at Latitude!

Age

We tend to work with the 10 - 17 age range as part of what we term ‘diversionary activity’ which means doing stuff that young people enjoy rather than being bored and looking for mischief. It is a district wide project and has an open door to all in the Suffolk Coastal District Council area.

Brief Descriptions

Woodbridge Wheelie Bin Band is drumming workshops making the best of rhythm using a variety of instruments. We tend to us wheelie bins but we can use any sort of junk! Best to turn up and see what we do. It is very noisy and we supply ear plugs, wear strong shoes as we kick things as well! Maximum of 20 young people.

Animation is a bit like Creature Comforts and Wallace and Grommit only not quite so grand. We use professional editing software and proper plasticine creating our own themes and backdrops. We have some very experienced leaders who have done training so it is great fun. Small group work at the moment of about 9 people so please contact us to get a place.
