Just42 Village Walk

Saturday 7th June 2008

We are urging familys to join a walk through the pretty East Suffolk countryside to highlight the youth work going on in rural villages.

We are challenging families from those communities to walk from village to village on Saturday June 7 th along a designated, mainly footpath route, including a stretch on the banks of the River Deben.

It is hoped walkers will join one or more of four three-mile sections, making a full day's outing of 12 miles for the most energetic.

Three young people from Farlingaye High School in Woodbridge , Josie Nash and her friends Beth Johnson and Hannah Blackmore, are helping organise the event as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme “service” requirements.

Caroline Rutherford has said: “There will be refreshments and displays of our work at each village, and we will even transport people back from the finish at our offices at Woodbridge Youth Centre near Kingston Field to the starting point at Grundisburgh, to collect their cars.

“We are trying to raise funds for our work in these communities, and we will ask those taking part to try to find sponsors for each mile they walk, but that is not a pre-requisite for anyone to participate. We do have on-line sponsorship facilities, though, to make it a lot easier.”

Entry forms are available from here or by ringing us at our office on 01394 380992.

For anyone unable to take part, but who wants to make a donation, they can do so on-line by going to the website www.justgiving.com  and accessing the Just42 account. Just Giving is an easy and efficient way to donate and raise money for charity.
