Bredfield Youth Club - WELCOME
Bredfield Youth club is run by and for the young people of Bredfield, Dallinghoo, Debach and Boulge villages. Our young people have the major say in the way the club is run, supported by professional staff and dedicated volunteers. While the club is a place for young people to have fun, meet with friends, make new ones and be safe it has an underlying Christian ethos. The following statement is taken from the Club's constitution: 'based on Christian values, Bredfield Youth Club aims to provide a club for young people of all faiths and none to enable them to take an active role in their own community through participation and being involved in a range of activities at the club'.
The club is financed by the collection of membership and subscriptions fees. While these fees are important, they alone will only cover a small portion of the amount needed to run the club week by week. It is for this reason that we need to continually seek support from funding bodies, charitable foundations, the local community.
What can you expect at the club?
When you arrive you will be made very welcome. The club will provide you with the opportunity for fun activities, good laughs, meaningful discussions, informal social education and the chance to just chill out and chat with existing friends and hopefully new ones. We are continually trying to improve provision. At the moment we have the the following activities available. In Winter we have table tennis, mini-football, indoor hockey, pool/snooker, X-box, Wii and PS2. In addition in the summer (lighter nights) we can use the village playing field which attaches directly to the club hall. Tennis, cricket, football, rounders and wide-games are all played regularly. If you can think of other games to play we are always open to suggestion.
End of term trips and themed nights?
We regularly add to an already busy evening by providing the materials to make some food. Past events have included a pancake night, biscuit decorating, pizza making, non-alcoholic cocktails, smoothie making, potato wedges and sauces and a Barbeque (for parents and children). The trips we have undertaken as a club have included ten-pin bowling, tobogganing, two weeks living as an iron age man learning the skills to survive and African Adventure with team games, walks, tasks, rope walking and archery. The end of the summer term sees a parents v. children games night. Last years was a real craic. What future events we may do is only limited by your imagination.

QUIZ NIGHT AT THE CASTLE
![]()
We have been given the ideal opportunity to raise some funds for the youth club. The local landlord 'Roy' of the Castle public house has offered to donate any money raised at the QUIZ NIGHT on the 10th March 2010 - 8.30pm. You are allowed to enter a team of four. For each player there is an entrance fee of £2.
I am asking all those who have young people attending the club to try to support this event, if at all possible. Not only will it be an exciting and challenging evening but it will be good to get people who benefit from Youth Club and those in the village to spend an evening together. Teams can be made up in any way, families, adults together, young people together. Please do you best to support this event. BECAUSE OF A CHANGE IN MANAGEMENT AT 'THE CASTLE', THIS EVENT HAD TO BE POSTPONED. WE HOPE TO RUN THIS EVENING AT SOME POINT IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
BYC AGM - 5th May 2010 at 7pm - Venue 'Bredfield Church Room'
The Bredfield Youth Commitee AGM is an evening for us to review the past year and consider the future of the club. Young people and parents alike are welcome. The committee members will feel encouraged if people can take time out of their busy schedule to support this meeting. It usually runs for around 45 minutes maximum.
