About Us - Current Work

Just42 currently runs 18 activities each week working with up to 350 young people, based on the school calendar. In addition, there are a number of projects which take place in holiday periods

A Project offers children and young people a session of educational and social activity and welfare support.

A Programme develops an area of the curriculum across the work of Just42, and may either contribute to existing projects or provide additional services to children and young people.

See the 'What We Do' section for details of all our current projects and programmes.

New in 2008:

  • The Animation Club has been re-named Claytime/Playtime and received a Youth Opportunity Fund grant following a successful application by club members, who hope to expand it's activities again this year.
  • The Youth clubs at Hasketon and Grundisburgh made a successful application to the youth Opportunity Fund for an exciting Summer Holidays programme last year; plans are being formulated for other projects this summer and we are already engaged in providing sports coaching as part of the extended schools programme in holiday times.

  • There is a new Youth Club at Bredfield - see Club Page
  • African Adventure - some of our clubs have an opportunity in May to visit the 'African Village' at Sizewell Hall on the Suffolk Coast - see latest news
  • After literally years of waiting, the Skate Park is now being built! We are pleased that everbody had the patience to see it through and we are looking forward to helping the young people launch and administer the new facility.
  • Bin There Drummed That: this project continues to develop into 2008 with new funding and a chance for young people of all ages to learn new skills on Wheelie Bins and perform at a number of venues in Suffolk.
  • As part of our fundraising activities this year, we arranged a Sponsored Walk on 7th June and invited as many people as possible to participate. Starting at Grundisburgh at 10am we visited all those villages around Woodbridge where we do youth work - Hasketon - Bredfield - Melton before walking along the bank of the River Deben to the Woodbridge Youth Centre. It is about 12 miles in all and we raised nearly £1,000! Thank you to all who took part.
  • Music Event at The Abbey School Hall, Woodbridge on Saturday 27th September 2008. An amazing evening and a contribution of over £3,000. Thank you to the wonderful performers and all who came along.
  • We are pleased to see the Launch of Wacky Wednesday in Rendlesham.
